My Echeveria’s Recovery: From Flattened to Flourishing

Índice

When my new Echeveria arrived in the mail, I was heartbroken—it looked completely squished and lifeless. The once-perfect rosette was flattened, its leaves bent and wrinkled from being packed too tightly. I almost thought it wouldn’t survive… but with a little patience and care, it made an amazing comeback!

Week 1: The Sad, Squished State

At first, my Echeveria looked like a pancake—its lower leaves were bent, and the center was tightly closed. Some leaves even had small cracks from the pressure. I gently removed any severely damaged leaves (to prevent rot) and placed it in bright, indirect light to avoid further stress.

Week 2-3: Slow but Steady Progress

I resisted the urge to overwater (a common mistake!) and only gave it a light drink when the soil was completely dry. To my surprise, the leaves started plumping up again. The center of the rosette, which had been compressed, slowly began to open up like a flower.

Week 4: A Full Recovery!

Now, my Echeveria looks completely transformed—its leaves are firm, the rosette is symmetrical, and it’s even showing a slight pink blush from getting enough sunlight! It’s proof that succulents are resilient and just need time to bounce back.

Key Tips for Reviving a Flattened Echeveria:

✔ Don’t overwater! Let it recover from shipping stress first.

✔ Give it bright, indirect light (direct sun too soon can burn stressed leaves).

✔ Remove badly damaged leaves to focus energy on healthy growth.

✔ Be patient! Succulents heal slowly but surely.

Now, my once-sad little plant is thriving—proof that even “ugly” succulents can become beautiful again! 💚 Have you ever saved a damaged plant? Share your story! 🌿😊
